GBRIA supports a large number of programs working to decrease injuries in our region in the workplace. Our members already have one of the lowest injury rates possible; however, we are striving for zero.

Address common regional issues by collecting data through Incident and Illness Surveys

ØFoster safe behavior through Contractor Safety Excellence and Individual Safety Awards programs

ØIncrease safety awareness with employees and the public through sponsorship of the Safe Nation radio show on WJBO 1150 A.M., every Saturday at 1 p.m.

ØContinue OSHA compliance and best in class safety training through local Safety Council Steering

ØReduce workplace risk by promoting adoption of the Security Passport criminal background screen program

ØContinue OSHA compliance for contractor safety and skills qualification verification requirements through the Process Safety Management Audit program

ØPromote common contractor management systems across the Gulf Coast for safety training, pre-qualification, PSM audits, drug and criminal background screening through Association of Reciprocal Safety Councils (ARSC) (www.arsc.net) and Construction Users Council (www.curt.org) interface

ØEnsure aligned Homeland Security & MTSA strategies through interface with LEPC’s, BRAMA, CAER and local government
