JOINT ABC INDUSTRIAL CONTACTORS COUNCIL STEERING
COMMITTEE AND GBRIA BOARD OF DIRECTORS
The Board of Directors of GBRIA recognize the
importance of addressing strategic issues with the
leaders of our merit shop contractor community. Direct
communication with the Associated Builders and
Contractors Industrial Contractors Council Steering
Committee provides an avenue for important issues
helping both industry and the contractor community
improve efficiencies.
The joint committee identified five top issues to
work on. These issues include:
- Workforce Development
- Cost Reduction
- Environment
- Legislative
- Industry Image
The committee has focused its efforts on Workforce
Development over the last several years. Their efforts
have yielded a common definition for a certified
craftsperson, study and development of a new model to
fund craft training in our area (still in development),
Non-English Speaking workers guidelines and more
Committee meetings are held at the GBRIA office from
7:30 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. once each quarter.
