GBRIA/SAFETY COUNCIL STEERING COMMITTEE
The Safety Council of the Louisiana Capital Area
(www.safetylca.org) and GBRIA have a long-standing
partnership to deliver standardized safety orientation
training programs. GBRIA developed the General Safety
and Health Orientation (GSHO) program in the early
1990's which evolved into standardized curricula now
managed through the
Association of Reciprocal Safety Councils.
A joint committee of the Safety Council and GBRIA
provide guidance on curricula, program pricing, program
and service enhancements, and new developments. Participation is open to Safety Council and GBRIA member companies.
Programs Offered by the Safety Council for GBRIA
members include:

Criminal Background Screens - the Security Passport
program offers a portable screen and is accepted by many
plants in the Greater Baton Rouge area.
Contractor Safety Training - The Safety Council of
the LA Capital Area delivers the Basic Orientation PlusTM (BOP) and its Refresher for GBRIA
members to prepare contract workers to enter industrial
sites and is accepted by all plants in the Greater Baton
Rouge area as well as many other plants in the nation.
Site Specific Orientations - The Safety Council also
delivers Site-Specific orientation for contractors. The Safety Council develops siste-specific orientation training courses (CBT's) for free for GBRIA members.
