GBRIA developed the General Safety and Health Orientation (GSHO) program in the early 1990's which evolved into standardized curricula now managed through the Association of Reciprocal Safety Councils.

A joint committee of the Safety Council and GBRIA provide guidance on curricula, program pricing, program and service enhancements, and new developments. Participation is open to Safety Council and GBRIA member companies.

Programs Offered by the Safety Council for GBRIA members include:

Criminal Background Screens - the Security Passport program offers a portable screen and is accepted by many plants in the Greater Baton Rouge area.

Contractor Safety Training - The Safety Council of the LA Capital Area delivers the Basic Orientation PlusTM (BOP) and its Refresher for GBRIA members to prepare contract workers to enter industrial sites and is accepted by all plants in the Greater Baton Rouge area as well as many other plants in the nation.
