SAFETY, HEALTH & SECURITY (SHS) COMMITTEE

The SHS Committee meets monthly, typically on the second Tuesday of each month from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m., at the GBRIA office and is led by GBRIA Board of Directors' members.  Participants on the committee are usually safety management representatives from member sites.  The committee covers many topics, has developed best practice guidelines and continues to seek improvements in safety. Please contact Jack Lavergne, Safety and Workforce Development Director at GBRIA if you would like to join the committee.

Currently their are a number of subcommittees as well, these are:

• Safety Council Steering
• Hydroblasting safety improvement
• Owner Entry Requirement
• Scaffolding safety improvement

The SHS Committee conducts a quarterly survey of Incidents and Illnesses. This data is used to focus improvement efforts and to schedule speakers for the quarterly technology exchanges. Historical results are shown below.

QUARTERLY SH&S NETWORKING AND TECHNOLOGY EXCHANGE MEETINGS

In addition to the committee meetings a quarterly SH&S Technology Exchange meeting is held and these are held from 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. with lunch served.
