Award Description
The Greater Baton Rouge Industry Alliance, Inc.
(GBRIA) would like to announce the establishment of our
first Contractor Craft Workforce Development Excellence
Awards.
The awards program has been in development throughout
2006 and 2007 through a joint effort of our Contractor
Workforce Development Committee and local contractors.
The program has been designed to promote best practices
to improve the skills and retention of craft personnel
in our region and to recognize and reward contractors
who invest in workforce development programs that
include recruitment, assessment, training, career paths
and retention. These awards support one of GBRIA’s
strategic objectives to ensure access to a competitive
and skilled contractor workforce.
All plants and contractors participating in the 2011
program will receive recognition at an awards luncheon
on March 24, 2011. We would like to encourage each
GBRIA member facility to nominate contractors who work
at your site who have implemented excellent workforce
development programs.
