CONTRACT COMPANY PRE-QUALIFICATION (PQF)

Many facilities allow contracting companies to document qualifications prior to awarding and/or starting work on-site.  The Pre-Qualification (PQF) process involves documentiing requirements for purchasing, safety, skills qualification/training, financial and other qualifications and information that plants need to ensure that safety standards are met and smooth operations can proceed once a job has begun.

Today, many systems are in use by facilities.  Years ago GBRIA and other similar associations standardized a PQF Questionnaire, which existed in a paper format.  Today, there are many online systems available based on the original questionnaire, however, at GBRIA we recommend using the systems from either the Southwest Louisiana Safety Council or the Houston Area Safety Council.  Both systems are very affordable for contractors, and can be kept up-to--date annually online.  Please see more details on each program below.
