Technology, Safety & Workforce Development Programs Manager
ABOUT GBRIA
The Greater Baton Rouge Industry Alliance (GBRIA) connects leading industrial companies across the Baton Rouge and New Orleans regions to share best practices, strengthen workforce development, and advance safety and innovation. Our members and partners include world-class petrochemical, refining, manufacturing, and construction firms that form the backbone of Louisiana's economy.
At GBRIA, we're a small, collaborative team that makes a big impact. You'll work directly with senior leaders from industry and gain meaningful experience managing programs, committees, events, and relationships that support Louisiana's industrial community.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We're looking for an experienced professional with an industrial background who is ready to bring that experience into a program management role.
As GBRIA's Technology, Safety & Workforce Development Programs Manager, you'll take ownership of several of our most visible member-facing programs. You'll lead industry committees, manage major recognition and workforce development programs, coordinate our annual technology conference, and work directly with industry professionals and organizational partners.
This is a primarily office-based role that requires strong organization, communication, follow-through, and the ability to manage multiple priorities independently. The ideal candidate understands the industrial environment and is ready to apply that experience in a role focused on program management, member engagement, and relationship building.
This is an opportunity to build relationships with leaders from some of Louisiana's largest industrial companies while taking on meaningful responsibility and growing with a small, experienced team.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Lead GBRIA's Safety, Health & Security, Workforce Development, and Technology committees and subcommittees.
- Manage the annual cycle of GBRIA's recognition and workforce development programs.
- Lead the planning and execution of the annual TEC Next Conference.
- Manage the Educator Externship Program and coordinate with participating companies, educators, and partners.
- Facilitate meetings, develop agendas, track action items, and maintain committee engagement.
- Coordinate with members, sponsors, vendors, and other partners.
- Track program timelines, outcomes, and data for leadership and board reporting.
- Identify opportunities to improve established programs while ensuring commitments are consistently delivered.
- Work collaboratively with GBRIA staff on shared projects, events, and organizational priorities.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- 5–7 years of professional experience in an industrial, petrochemical, refining, manufacturing, construction, contractor, or related environment.
- Experience with safety, workforce development, training, operations, maintenance, EHS, HR, or technical committees.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines with minimal oversight.
- Comfort working in a professional office environment and communicating with senior industry leaders.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and a willingness to learn new technology and productivity tools.
- A genuine interest in Louisiana's industrial sector and the workforce, safety, and technology issues affecting the region.
A bachelor's degree in a related field and experience with program administration, event coordination, conference planning, nonprofit management, or emerging industrial technologies are preferred.
COMPENSATION
$70,000+, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
WHY GBRIA
At GBRIA, you'll have the opportunity to do work that has a direct connection to Louisiana's industrial community. You'll work alongside experienced professionals, interact regularly with industry leaders, and take ownership of programs that influence safety, workforce development, and the future of industry in our region.
For someone ready to move beyond a purely field-based role and apply their industrial experience in a broader organizational setting, this is an opportunity to build a meaningful, long-term career with a small team that has a large reach.
